One of the newest cottage facilities located on the ocean overlooking renowned Mahone Bay,just outside the historic town of Chester. Providing you the perfect Nova Scotia experience.

Celtic Grove Cottages is situated on 10 acres of coastal property-- with 355 feet of oceanfront, each cottage offering a panoramic view of the Bay. Once you’re settled into Celtic Grove, a multitude of vacation experiences await - kayak the sheltered waters of Mahone Bay or take a Zodiac ride to view the infamous Oak Island. Walk along our nature trails, bike our country roads and trails, fish from the shoreline, look for sea and oceanbirds, take the kids to the playground, or just relax on your deck and take in the wonderful sights of Mahone Bay.

Our location is ideally situated for short trips to Peggy's Cove, the surrounding towns of Mahone Bay, Chester and Lunenburg, the vibrant city of Halifax as well as the Annapolis Valley with its world famous high tides. Just minutes from Celtic Grove is the Chester area, filled with beaches, golfing, restaurants, shops and galleries to keep you busy as long as you want. And when you’re done, come back to the retreat of your own cottage overlooking the ocean.

Celtic Grove offers 2 bedroom housekeeping cottages with Queen or Double, two Twin beds as well as a sofa bed. Spacious living rooms provide views of the bay and are equipped with fireplace, satellite TV and VCR. Full kitchen facilities provide fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. There’s a full 4 pc bathroom with jetted tubs, and one cottage is equipped with a wheelchair ramp and wheelchair facilities. Barbecue facilities on your own private patio/deck (smoking on patio/deck only). There’s a phone on site with free local calls. There is also a children's playground on site

Chester - Spend a day in the nearby village of Chester. A quiet escape filled with historic architecture that has been a summer haven for the rich and famous for centuries. Local artisans and sailors continue to make this their seaside escape.

Mahone Bay - A beautiful seaside town with its famous Three Churches and Mahone Bay Wooden Boat Festival. Grab a bite, stroll the waterfront or visit the craft stores

Lunenburg - A UNESCO World Heritage site, this famous seaside town is filled with museums, shops, great dining and amazing architecture. Home of the Bluenose and Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic.

Peggy’s Cove - Nova Scotia’s famous lighthouse is only an hour’s drive along the beautiful shores of St. Margaret’s Bay. Enjoy the drive as you visit this world famous beacon situated on a mountain of granite overlooking the ocean.

Activities Golfing - Take advantage of some of Nova Scotia’s beautiful seashore courses. Chester Golf Course and Osprey Ridge are both close by and available to book tee off times with less than 48 hours notice.

Biking - The South Shore is famous for its beautiful coast biking roads, hugging the shore line and winding along inlets and coastal villages. Take a short trip from Celtic Grove cottages into Chester to plan a bigger venture to further off sites.

Walking - nature trails are available on Celtic Grove’s 12 acres or stroll further along the beautiful Borgalds Point Road to see some of the local shore line and views of Mahone bay.

How to fid us

From Halifax Take Hwy 3 Lighthouse Route a beautiful senic route to Chester Basin, 1km past Hwy 12 turnoff, turn on Borgalds Point Road for 1 km to Celtic Grove Cottages.

From Mahone Bay Take Hwy 3 to Chester Basin. Approximately 1/2km after Chester Basin sign turn on Borgalds Point Road for 1 km to Celtic Grove Cottages on the right
