Situated at the head of Double Mer Lake, a long sound off the eastern coast of Labrador just above the 54th parallel, the camp gives immediate access to the Double Mer River, one of Labrador's most picturesque salmon streams. The first salmon pools are less than two miles upstream. Two other rivers are accessible via a twenty minute ride by boat. The Partridge River is a salmon stream and Cooper's Brook, with is numerous rapids, boasts some terrific speckled trout fishing. The Double Mer and Partridge Rivers are government designated salmon streams and as such, are restricted to fly fishing only. However, you may fish the estuaries for sea-run brook trout or char, as well as Cooper's Brook, with spinning gear. While the top prize remains the Atlantic salmon, speckled trout are found almost everywhere. They are big and numerous.
