Cottage

This two-bedroom cottage, situated on 1.3 - acres of rolling lawns and deciduous forest, offers you a peaceful retreat with a breathtaking view of Long Point Bay, Lake Erie.

The main floor with exposed beams and wood columns, wood floors and antique full-length windows features a full bathroom, laundry facilities, kitchen and living dining area.

The fully equipped kitchen comes with fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, water cooler and all utensils. The main floor full bathroom has a pedestal tub and shower as well as a heavy-duty washer and dryer. The open concept living room is decorated with Tiffany lamps, has leather couches and chair and rustic tables. There is satellite television (regular TV only with the additional option of Pay TV satellite with movie features at an extra cost), a stereo with CD player, phonograph, radio, tape deck and telephone. The solid pine dining table seats six comfortably and is situated for a glorious view of the lake.

On the second floor there are two bedrooms and a two-piece bathroom. The main bedroom features a queen size futon and balcony. The second room offers 2 double futons. There are also 2 additional air mattresses available if required.

Activities

In the summer your family can enjoy swimming, fishing and canoeing from the private beach.

You can visit Port Dover’s beach for a swim or the Port Dover marinas for a boat ride or rental. There is summer theatre at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre as well as waterfront restaurants, farmers’ markets, museums, gift shops, mini-golf and more. Visit the Town of Simcoe, less than fifteen minutes away for more to see and to do. There’s Turkey Point or Long Point beach for a change of scenery. Long Point attractions also include the World Biosphere, Long Point Provincial Park, Bird Studies National Headquarters and Long Point Bird Observatory.

Whatever the season enjoy a variety of activities. Take long walks in nature, or bike rides on the Lynn Valley trail or play golf at the nearby golf clubs. There is horseback riding at nearby stables, cross-country skiing or ice fishing in the winter.

Whatever the activity, your peaceful retreat awaits your return with a range of possibilities. Dinner on the deck overlooking the lake, star gazing with a cup of hot chocolate in front of the blazing fire in the outdoor fire-pit or simply sit inside by the wood stove fireplace reading a good book, playing board games, watching a movie or gazing at the lake. This is, after all, your home away from home.
